FUCHS TAMÁS | Tamás Fuchs #festőZOMBIK

In Tamás Fuchs’s paintings, ships, maritime horizons, animals and curious objects float between memory and imagination. His painting is melancholic, sometimes ironic: personal experiences, media imagery and visions of science fiction find common ground.

He studied under Gábor Nagy at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts. His painting skills also contribute to the worlds behind the camera: his own list of work credits includes fourteen productions as a film set painter, among them Son of Saul, The Martian, The Borgias and The Last Kingdom. He also painted much of the approximately 800 m² mural in the Green Pyramid at Nyíregyháza Zoo.

His Budapest gallery connections include Godot and Ladó. At Ladó Gallery, his Millefiori exhibition (2025) was opened by Ágnes Bihari, and Old Shark (2026) by Virág Erdős.

On view at MoZsÅr, Container Ship off Málaga (2018) brings his maritime imagery into connection with a specific place.
